Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Remote Platform Engineer to support a critical modernization effort with a large government healthcare customer. This individual will be responsible for designing, building and managing a cloud native, multitenant DevOps platform that will be leveraged across a large enterprise environment. The goal for this role will be to leverage various open source cloud native tools to build and enhance a self-service devops platform that is robust, highly scalable and reusable. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in devops and CI/CD, as well as experience in cloud native computing, GitOps and/or platform engineering.

Additional responsibilities include:

Work with the customer and technical staff to interpret requirements into a design roadmap

In coordination with architect and delivery team, design and build out CI/CD pipeline

Help solve issues around scalability and reusability in IAC environment in Terraform

Adding new CI or CD technologies to the existing pipeline configure and deploy helm charts for specific use cases

Enhance implementation and usage of cloud native tools like ArgoCD and Crossplane as part of the GitOps strategy

Troubleshooting CI/CD pipeline issues as they arise, working closely with SRE and developers

Align closely with the Product Owners to understand user stories

Requirements

5+ years of experience in DevOps building and managing environments supporting cloud native platforms.

Strong experience with containers and orchestration tools Docker and Kubernetes

Hands on experience with AWS, specifically with AWS managed Kubernetes services (EKS)

Hands on experience with Helm with a deep understanding of chart configurations and use cases

Strong experience and knowledge with Terraform building IaC environments

Experience or understanding of GitOps approach to DevOps, preferably with ArgoCD or a similar tool (Jenkins X, Flux, etc.)

Experience working with and supporting Agile development teams Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent years of work experience Experience building cloud native multitenant DevOps platforms/environments

Experience with Crossplane creating cloud native control planes
