Job description

The SAP EDI Analyst is a key member of the IT SAP Supply Chain Execution team responsible for supporting Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations that enable Commercial, Supply Chain, and Global Sourcing & Materials (GSM) business processes.

This role focuses on operational support within SAP ECC EDI environment, including transaction monitoring, issue resolution, trading partner onboarding, integration coordination, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong SAP and EDI expertise, hands-on experience with IBM Sterling, and the ability to support high-volume transaction environments in manufacturing or supply chain operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesEDI Operations Support

  • Support day-to-day EDI operations across SAP ECC environments
  • Monitor EDI transaction activity to ensure reliable processing and timely issue resolution
  • Support IBM Sterling environments in collaboration with internal IT teams, vendors, and service providers
  • Create, manage, and track support requests related to IBM Sterling services
  • Monitor service performance, incidents, and escalation activities
  • Maintain EDI workflows, operational documentation, and transaction visibility processes
  • Ensure compliance with EDI standards including ANSI X12 and EDIFACT
  • Collaborate with SAP, integration, and commercial teams to support accurate data exchange between backend systems and EDI interfaces

Trading Partner & Process Support

  • Support onboarding, setup, and maintenance of customer and supplier trading partners
  • Coordinate EDI testing, validation, and implementation activities
  • Troubleshoot transaction exceptions related to:
  • Purchase Orders (850)
  • Order Acknowledgements (855)
  • Invoices (810)
  • Advance Ship Notices (856)
  • Inventory & Shipping Transactions
  • Partner with Commercial, Supply Chain, and GSM teams to resolve operational issues
  • Translate business requirements into functional support and integration needs
  • Coordinate with technical teams on EDI mapping and implementation activities

Technical & Functional Responsibilities

  • Support EDI mapping validation, transaction testing, and troubleshooting activities
  • Analyze transaction failures and identify root causes and recurring patterns
  • Define mapping logic and generate pseudocode for EDI implementation support
  • Support integrations using:
  • XML
  • Flat files
  • APIs
  • Middleware platforms
  • Backend system interfaces

Requirements

Do you have experience in Systems integration?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on EDI experience required
  • 5+ years of EDI experience preferred
  • Experience within manufacturing, telecommunications, distribution, or supply chain-intensive environments preferred
  • Hands-on SAP experience required
  • Experience supporting:
  • Order management
  • Shipping
  • Procurement
  • Invoicing processes
  • Experience with IBM Sterling VAN preferred

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of EDI standards
