Job description

This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative embedded technologies that support next-generation payment and vehicle solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineering background with experience developing applications that interact with firmware, payment devices, backend services, and user-facing interfaces. You’ll collaborate with engineers across hardware, firmware, and software teams to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions., * Java Development

Daily Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications for embedded systems
  • Write and optimize Java-based code while contributing to C++ development efforts when needed
  • Implement, validate, and support firmware-related functionality
  • Create verification suites and automate test cases
  • Partner with firmware and embedded engineering teams to ensure effective system integration
  • Debug and troubleshoot software-to-firmware communication issues
  • Develop and execute unit, integration, and system-level testing
  • Analyze and resolve software defects, performance issues, and system bottlenecks
  • Maintain development and testing documentation
  • Provide project updates and communicate technical risks, issues, and resolutions
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers throughout the development lifecycle
  • Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience developing software for embedded systems
  • Strong Java programming skills
  • Experience building and supporting API integrations
  • Solid understanding of embedded systems and software architecture
  • Experience working with processors and peripheral interfaces
  • Background supporting payment processing platforms, POS systems, and payment devices
  • Experience with UI-layer development
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in embedded environments
  • Familiarity with Git, Jira, and Docker
  • Experience with scripting and automation
  • Knowledge of build tools and software deployment processes

Desired Skills & Experience

  • C++ experience is highly preferred
  • Exposure to cloud-based environments, particularly OTA (Over-the-Air) updates and backend integrations
  • Familiarity with mobile payment technologies
  • Prior experience in the EV, AV, or automotive industry
