Job description

We are seeking an Application Programmer III to join our dynamic team supporting Bank of America’s Global Technology division. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java Spring Boot microservices, event-driven architecture, and data movement patterns and a proven ability to deliver robust, compliant services that integrate heterogeneous data sources and meet functional and non-functional requirements., * Design, develop, and deliver complex application services using Java Spring Boot and microservices patterns.

  • Implement APIs and integrations with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces across heterogeneous data sources.
  • Ensure solutions meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements including security and reliability.
  • Develop unit and integration tests for REST and GraphQL endpoints, including pagination, retries, and backoff.
  • Build and support data movement pipelines for ETL/ELT, CDC, batch, and near-real-time streaming.
  • Apply enterprise architecture standards that promote consistency, integration, and automation.
  • Collaborate with DevEx stakeholders to improve developer experience, quality, and delivery efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Java with Spring Boot for microservices, plus Python for utilities and SQL for data access.
  • Experience with architectural patterns: microservices, event-driven, REST, batch/stream, idempotency, and backpressure.
  • Hands-on API testing for REST/GraphQL including pagination, retries, and exponential backoff.
  • Knowledge of authentication and authorization flows: OAuth2, JWT, and mTLS; handling rate limits and idempotency.
  • Data movement expertise across ETL/ELT, CDC, near-real-time streaming, and bulk/batch processing.
  • Experience level: 5+ years in application development roles.

Preferred Skills:

  • Background in developer experience platforms or enablement within large enterprises.
  • Experience working within governance frameworks and enterprise architecture standards.
