Why does the job exist?
The Information Technologies (IT) Applications Enterprise Release Manager will:
Provide oversight for all software releases within the Information Technologies Division (ITD) and direct the ITD change control process;
Supervise staff responsible for the daily operations of the quality assurance and testing team;
Manage hiring, retention, career development, and performance evaluation for direct reports, ensuring employees meet established standards and expectations;
Ensure all work is completed on schedule and in accordance with organizational constraints and requirements;
Maintain accountability for multiple applications and quality assurance/testing teams;
Utilize Enterprise Tracker software to administer and monitor all software releases within ITD.
How does it get done?
The IT Applications Enterprise Release Manager is responsible for:
Leading and managing a technical group, including recruiting, training, development, performance evaluations, and fostering collaboration;
Addressing group process issues to ensure goal achievement;
Engaging business and technical leaders in identifying solutions, ensuring alignment with best practices for cross-functional implementation;
Overseeing planning, organization, and communication efforts to drive change initiatives;
Managing project schedules, budgets, and design constraints, while making decisions on analysis, design, and testing;
Approving technical changes and overseeing timelines, ensuring quality standards are met;
Ensuring security and compliance, stay informed on industry standards, trends, and regulations, and implement measures to monitor, detect, and address errors or issues;
Managing vendor relations, identify potential priority conflicts, and develop systems for reviewing large data volumes and translating reports into management presentations and;
Guide supervisors in implementing Human Resource (HR) policies and procedures and evaluate performance both internally and externally to identify areas for improvement, recommending new guidelines or procedures as needed.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Vendor relationship building?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and four (4) years of experience in software programming. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate. Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive phone and personal computer usage. Direct client interaction and some travel may be required. Supplemental Information
