Job description

We are looking for a Data Architect / Lead to lead the assessment, discovery, design, and implementation architecture for the Member Sales decommission and modernization initiative. The role will focus on analysing the current SQL Server, SSIS, SQL Agent jobs, stored procedures, Alteryx workflows, SFTP/SharePoint-based feeds, and downstream integrations, then defining a modern target-state architecture using Databricks., * Lead current-state assessment of Member Sales database assets, including tables, stored procedures, SSIS packages, SQL Agent jobs, ETL job plans, and downstream dependencies.

Inventory and analyse existing ingestion and transformation pipelines.

  • Assess current acute and non-acute distribution data flows.

  • Analyse monthly SFTP to SharePoint to Alteryx processing used for PRS reporting.

Review acute distribution ETL workflows loading into Member Sales and downstream EDB tables.

  • Define target-state architecture for modernizing existing pipelines and destination platform using Databricks.

  • Design migration approach for repointing existing pipelines to a new landing environment.

Identify domain areas and recommend ownership model for transition to domain owners after the modernization work.

  • Define source-to-target mappings, data lineage, integration dependencies, and migration sequencing.

  • Ensure downstream continuity for PRS reporting, Provista line-item data delivery, sourcing, and auditing use cases.

  • Define data validation and parity strategy covering completeness, timing, reconciliation, and output comparison.

  • Create high-level and low-level architecture/design documentation.

  • Support effort estimation, delivery planning, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and SOW inputs.

  • Provide technical oversight during implementation and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.

Requirements

  • Strong data architecture experience across legacy and modern data platforms.

  • Deep knowledge of SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, SQL Agent jobs, and SSIS.

  • Experience with ETL modernization and legacy pipeline migration.

  • Strong experience with Databricks, Spark, PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, and Lakehouse architecture.

  • Experience analysing and modernizing batch ingestion pipelines.

  • Ability to assess undocumented or partially documented legacy systems.

  • Strong understanding of data lineage, dependency mapping, and downstream impact analysis.

  • Experience with data migration, cutover planning, rollback planning, and production readiness.

  • Strong data validation and reconciliation experience.

  • Ability to work with business stakeholders, SMEs, engineering teams, QA teams, and platform teams.

  • Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Alteryx workflows.

  • Experience with SharePoint-based file processing and SFTP ingestion.

  • Experience with Azure Databricks, ADLS, ADF, or similar cloud data platforms.

  • Healthcare, supply chain, distributor, member sales, sourcing, or audit data experience.

  • Experience defining domain ownership and post-migration support models.
