Experteer Overview As a Staff Backend Developer on the Engine team, you will help design and evolve the Recipe runtime and distributed services using Ruby and Go.You’ll tackle performance, scalability, and data integrity challenges in a real-time orchestration platform trusted by many Fortune 500 customers.You collaborate across teams to improve architecture, reviews, and incident response, shaping how data, events, and workflows run at scale.This is a hands-on, leadership-oriented role focused on building robust, secure backend systems.Join a high-impact environment that values innovation, autonomy, and reliable delivery.Compensaciones / Beneficios- Architect and design distributed applications with strong performance and resilience requirements- Develop, extend, troubleshoot, and optimize Ruby and Go services and microservices- Integrate data storage systems such as Postgres, S3, Redis, Kafka, and ClickHouse- Contribute across all phases of the development lifecycle and perform code reviews- Provide technical leadership and collaborate with multiple teams on shared initiatives- Identify bottlenecks and bugs; propose and implement improvements- Maintain code quality, organization, and automationResponsabilidades- 7+ years building scalable distributed backend applications- Deep understanding of distributed systems patterns and algorithms- Strong knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL) and network fundamentals- Multilingual programming experience (Ruby and Go; Rust as an additional language is a plus)- Experience with cloud deployments (k8s, Terraform, ArgoCD) and public clouds (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud)- Excellent debugging, analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related fieldRequisitos principales- vibrant and dynamic work environment- multitude of benefits- flexible, trust-oriented culture- remote-friendly collaboration- focus on work-life balance

Requirements

7+ years building scalable distributed backend applications

  • Deep understanding of distributed systems patterns and algorithms
  • Strong knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL) and network fundamentals
  • Multilingual programming experience (Ruby and Go; Rust as an additional language is a plus)
  • Experience with cloud deployments (k8s, Terraform, ArgoCD) and public clouds (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud)
  • Excellent debugging, analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
