Lead Data Security Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Data Security Engineer to lead enterprise-wide data protection initiatives focused on Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), and data governance programs. This individual will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing strategies that protect sensitive data across both cloud and on-premises environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise DLP and CASB programs.

• Architect and manage data discovery, classification, labeling, and protection initiatives.

• Support data governance and compliance efforts through effective security controls and monitoring.

• Lead investigations involving data loss, policy violations, and potential data exfiltration events.

• Integrate security telemetry and data protection events into detection and monitoring platforms.

• Drive threat hunting and proactive monitoring efforts related to sensitive data exposure.

• Evaluate and recommend security tools, technologies, and vendors.

• Partner with security, infrastructure, compliance, legal, and business stakeholders to implement enterprise data protection strategies.

• Develop policies, standards, and best practices for data security and governance.

• Mentor junior security team members and provide technical leadership across security initiatives.

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, data security, information protection, or related disciplines.

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, including enterprise DLP implementations.

• Deep knowledge of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies and methodologies.

• Experience with CASB solutions, preferably Zscaler CASB.

• Experience with data discovery, classification, labeling, and governance programs.

• Strong understanding of the data governance lifecycle and information protection frameworks.

• Experience supporting security investigations, incident response, and remediation activities.

• Knowledge of cloud security principles and modern security architectures.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field.

• Experience mentoring security engineers and leading technical programs.
