Job description
The DevOps Analyst supports Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) in partnership with the Department of Children, Youth & Families (MNIT DCYF) by helping ensure the reliable delivery, deployment, and operation of mission-critical applications. This position serves as a key link between software development, CI/CD automation, and operational support by maintaining stable application environments and supporting efficient, high-quality releases across both on-premises and Azure cloud platforms.
This role troubleshoots and resolves production issues, supports deployment and operational processes, and contributes to continuous improvement in application performance, reliability, and service resilience. Working closely with developers, quality assurance, middleware, network, and security teams, the position helps optimize application delivery while maintaining system stability and reliable services for customers.
This position is telework eligible for applicants who reside in Minnesota or in a bordering state, with supervisory approval and satisfactory performance. Position requires a minimum of two (2) years of IT-related experience supporting applications using DevOps practices.
Experience must include:

Supporting software applications through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
-
Supporting CI/CD pipelines and application deployments using DevOps tools and automation processes.

Troubleshooting and resolving application issues using log analysis, root cause analysis, and collaboration with technical teams.

Developing or maintaining automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or a similar scripting language.

Working with application infrastructure and supporting technologies, such as APIs, databases, application configurations, or cloud environments.

Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding.
-
Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving to deliver positive user experiences.
Education in Information Technology (IT) or an IT related field may substitute for experience as follows: a master’s degree for eighteen (18) months of experience; a bachelor’s degree for one (1) year; and an associate’s degree for six (6) months.
Strongly Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience supporting DevOps practices in a complex application environment.

Demonstrated experience improving application deployment or operational processes through automation and continuous improvement.

Demonstrated experience collaborating with application development, quality assurance, infrastructure, networking, and security teams to support application delivery and resolve production issues.
Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience supporting Microsoft Azure cloud services and application environments.

Experience using CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar technologies.

Demonstrated experience supporting production applications, including incident response, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.

Experience implementing or supporting automated testing, security scanning, or code quality tools within CI/CD pipelines., Minnesota IT Services does not participate in the federal E-Verify program.
