Job description

The MNIT DCT team provides essential IT support for a wide range of healthcare services, including mental health, substance abuse treatment, and support for individuals with developmental disabilities. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the technology needs of DCT are met, enabling them to deliver high-quality care and treatment services to Minnesotans in need., Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) is seeking a collaborative and strategic technology leader to serve as the DevOps Manager supporting Direct Care and Treatment (DCT). This position provides leadership for the DevOps and Application Services function, overseeing application development and support while leading a team of IT professionals responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and high-quality technology solutions that support critical state services., * Experience managing vendor relationships, coordinating vendor-delivered services, and ensuring effective delivery of technology solutions, including experience working for or managing external vendor organizations.

  • Experience leading application development, application support, or DevOps teams within large, complex, multi site or multi-system organizations, including leading the adoption of modern software delivery practices, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical technology services in a 24/7 operational environment, including maintaining service reliability, operational continuity, and effective incident response., It is the policy of Minnesota IT Services that a successful candidate must pass all legally required checks prior to employment which may consist of the following:

Requirements

Position requires a minimum of five (5) years of IT experience leading application development, application support, DevOps, or related technology services in a complex technology environment., * Developing collaborative partnerships with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and leadership to deliver technology solutions that meet organizational priorities.

  • Experience working across multiple phases of the application development lifecycle, including systems analysis, solution design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing support.
  • Applying technology governance, operational planning, risk management, and continuous improvement principles to support reliable, secure, and efficient technology services.
  • Two (2) years of lead work or supervisory experience, including establishing priorities, managing workloads, coaching or mentoring employees, and supporting staff development.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively to foster mutual understanding, guide teams through change, and effectively advise leadership and business stakeholders on technical initiatives and solutions.
  • Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving, with demonstrated leadership and people engagement skills that support positive user experiences and high-performing teams.

Two (2) years of experience in a Systems Architect classification or two (2) years of experience in an external IT Architect role may substitute for the required supervisory experience., * Experience supervising technical staff, including coaching, performance management, workload planning, and supporting employee development, and managing staffing and competing resource priorities.

  • Experience supporting technology services within healthcare, behavioral health, public sector, payment processing, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Experience evaluating emerging technologies and recommending technology solutions that align with business needs and organizational priorities.
