Senior Network Security Engineer

A healthcare client is looking for a Senior Network Security Engineer to sit fully remote. This person is going to be supporting a high level initiative within the organization that the enterprise is considering Engagement as a Service. The platform is so benefit holders have a better relationship with their benefits & can ask it real time questions, have cost transparency, etc. This person needs to have expertise in Palo Alto Network firewalls, cloud security architecture and Cisco Viptela SD-WAN. This engineer is going to be responsible for the designing, implementing and operating enterprise firewall and SD-WAN across both cloud and on-prem environments. They will lead the deployment of Palo Alto firewalls within GCP and other cloud platforms, while helping establish new SD-WAN architecture connecting GCP hubs to on prem branch and data center spokes. This person MUST be able to work independently and be capable of helping drive strategic initiatives and day to day operational support.

• 10+ years of Network Security / Firewall Engineering experience in enterprise environments.

• Expert-level Palo Alto Networks experience, including hands-on deployment, administration, and Panorama management.

• Strong Google Cloud Platform (GCP) networking experience, specifically deploying and supporting Palo Alto firewalls in cloud environments.

• Cisco Viptela SD-WAN design and implementation experience, including building and supporting production environments.

• Experience designing hybrid cloud hub-and-spoke architectures, with GCP/cloud hubs and on-premises spokes.

• Deep networking knowledge of BGP, OSPF, IPsec VPNs, NAT, routing, segmentation, and secure cloud connectivity.

• Automation and scripting experience using Python, Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools, with strong troubleshooting and operational support capabilities. * Palo Alto certifications (PCNSA, PCNSE)

• Cisco SD-WAN / Viptela certifications

• Experience with cloud-native security services in GCP

• Experience supporting highly regulated environments (healthcare, finance, etc.)

• Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) expertise and cloud automation frameworks

• Experience leading large-scale cloud modernization or network transformation initiatives

• Strong incident response, root cause analysis, and security investigation experience
