Job description
Description We are looking for an ERP Release Manager to lead release planning and environment governance for a Workday-centered enterprise landscape in San Antonio, TX. This role will guide deployments, coordinate testing cycles, and help business and technical teams evaluate upcoming platform changes with speed and precision. The ideal candidate brings strong release management experience, sound judgment in change control, and the ability to keep stakeholders aligned across HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT.
Responsibilities:

Direct release activities across Workday and related non-production environments, managing schedules, dependencies, and deployment readiness from development through production.

Administer tenant refreshes and recurring environment updates while reducing operational disruption and maintaining system stability.

Organize governance meetings for change review, set agendas, capture outcomes, and drive follow-up actions tied to configuration updates and new functionality.

Evaluate newly delivered platform capabilities, determine business impact, and present recommendations that support process improvement and informed decision-making.

Enforce structured testing and change control practices across environments to promote quality, compliance, and release consistency.

Maintain current documentation, process diagrams, knowledge resources, and shared team materials to support transparency and operational continuity.

Communicate release windows, key milestones, and expected impacts to stakeholders, ensuring teams are prepared for upcoming changes.

Partner with internal departments and external vendors to coordinate testing, issue resolution, enhancement tracking, and implementation support.

Produce release notes, communication materials, status summaries, and prioritized reporting for issues, risks, and enhancement requests.
Requirements
-
Support audit and compliance efforts by gathering evidence, validating adherence to required procedures, and preparing reports for leadership review. Requirements * Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

At least 3 years of experience in enterprise application release management, with Workday strongly preferred.

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, solve problems effectively, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience coordinating cross-functional testing, change management, and environment readiness activities across multiple stakeholder groups.

Ability to learn new platforms and tools quickly and perform effectively in a hybrid work setting.

Must be able to pass required background screening, pre-employment physical, and drug testing.

Availability to support on-call responsibilities outside standard business hours, including evenings or weekends when needed.
