Job description

  • We are looking for a passionate Agile Coach, who is experienced in enabling Agile delivery through the application of Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Agile Delivery Framework and alignment with company Agile Playbook.
  • Agile Coaches in our organization are trusted advisors and thought leaders who partner with senior leadership, Technology, Business, and internal PMO to build high-performing, outcome-focused Agile teams and programs.
  • A successful Agile Coach must adeptly navigate complex organizations and adapt coaching approaches to teams at varying levels of Agile maturity.
  • This role requires deep expertise in Agile metrics, flow-based measurements, and value realization, combining with strong organizational change management capabilities.
  • Agile Coaches proactively identify systemic challenges and guide teams and leaders in adopting Agile ways of working that align with enterprise governance and delivery standards.
  • The Agile Coach works closely with Agile Delivery Manager, and PMO partners to mature and optimize Agile execution across the enterprise, ensuring transparency, alignment, and measurable business outcomes.
  • This role interacts extensively with Technology and Business stakeholders to embed Agile practices, reinforce consistent delivery expectations, and ensure outcomes align with strategic priorities., * Lead the setup and optimization of Agile teams, Agile programs, and SAFe Agile Release Trains (ARTs) in alignment with the company Agile Playbook and enterprise delivery standards.
  • Coach senior business, technology, and PMO leaders on the Agile mindset, Agile delivery frameworks, and the use of metrics to drive transparency, predictability, and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate enterprise and portfolio level alignment discussions across Agile delivery, PMO practices, strategic vision, funding models, and desired business outcomes.
  • Conduct Agile maturity, readiness, and health assessments to support onboarding of new teams and to identify opportunities for improving existing team and program performance.
  • Define, design, and operationalize Agile metrics and dashboards, including flow metrics, delivery predictability, value realization, and team health indicators.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure Agile metrics align with PMO reporting, Clarity investment data, and enterprise governance requirements.
  • Prepare organizations for Agile delivery through formal training and hands on coaching of Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers, and Development Teams.
  • Create and execute collaborative coaching and improvement plans to optimize team and program performance using data driven insights.
  • Actively support and contribute to the Agile Community of Practice as a thought leader by creating content, facilitating workshops, hosting lean coffees, and sharing best practices.
  • Assist stakeholders in defining outcome based Agile metrics that clearly demonstrate business value and support executive decision making.
  • Identify, escalate, and help resolve organizational and systemic impediments that limit Agile team effectiveness or flow.
  • Serve in a hands on Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer capacity, when needed, to establish new teams or stabilize and optimize existing teams.
  • Administer, configure, and maintain Jira, including workflows, boards, backlogs, reporting, dashboards, and integrations to support enterprise Agile delivery and metrics.
  • Support alignment between Jira, Clarity, and PMO processes to ensure consistency across planning, funding, execution, and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 10+ years of overall experience in technology delivery
  • 5+ years of experience as an Agile Coach
  • SAFe SPC certification
  • Demonstrated experience with scaled Agile delivery frameworks, particularly SAFe
  • Deep understanding of Agile delivery frameworks, practices, and enterprise governance models
  • Strong expertise in Agile metrics, flow based measurement, delivery predictability, and value realization
  • Experience aligning Agile delivery with PMO practices, portfolio management, and financial governance
  • Executive presence with exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with senior leaders, team members, PMO partners, and customers
  • Ability to influence and guide teams and leaders without direct authority
  • Passion for and demonstrated success driving continuous improvement across Technology and Business teams
  • Knowledge of Agile success patterns, common failure modes, and effective techniques for course correction
  • Strong grounding in organizational change management principles
  • Understanding of modern engineering practices (TDD, CI/CD, DevOps, etc.)
  • Flexibility to coach teams across diverse contexts, sizes, maturity levels, and distributed environments
  • Experience with SDLC, release management, and dependency management
  • Experience launching new Agile teams and Agile Release Trains (ARTs) using SAFe
  • Solid understanding of project and portfolio management fundamentals, including budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and risk management
  • Experience supporting hybrid delivery models (Agile interfacing with Waterfall)
  • Advanced experience with Agile Lifecycle Management tools, particularly Jira
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project, SharePoint)
  • Advanced Jira administration experience, including configuration, reporting, and dashboards

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Certified Agile Coach (CAC)
  • PMP and/or Lean Six Sigma certifications
  • Expertise in Product Development and/or Customer Experience
  • Previous experience in Utility industry
