Requirements

  • Associates degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or related preferred.\n
  • 5+ years of proficient understanding of HVAC systems including various components and processes.\n
  • 5+ years of proficient understanding of computers, electronics, and electrical circuits and how they work together.\n
  • 5+ years of proficient understanding of building and construction materials, tools, and processes.\n
  • 5+ Years of experience with Microsoft Office.\n
  • 3+ years of developing and authoring programming logic.\n

n As a Building Automation (BA) System Specialist III, you will focus on developing sequence testing, project graphics, and point to point verification ensuring the system runs as efficiently as possible. This position has a vast amount of knowledge and experience to help guide the team to successful installation and completion. Contributes to the desired culture and safety of the organization.\n \n \nSequence Testing:\n \n \n

  • Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.\n
  • Inspect systems to determine if they are operating properly.\n
  • Reviews plans, specifications, and design to understand project scope.\n
  • Ensure the proper installation of components.\n

\n \nPoint to Point Verification:\n \n \n

  • Test components for proper functioning.\n
  • Diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of system components, assemblies, or systems.\n
  • Set up and operate standard or specialized testing equipment.\n
  • Ensure sensor location and functionality.\n

\n \nProject Graphics:\n \n \n

  • Create images for various wirings, designs, or system dashboards.\n
  • Produce electrical, electronic, or mechanical drawings, sketches, blueprints, engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, or other related documents or graphics necessary for HVAC design.\n
  • Present designs and reports to customers or design committees for approval and discuss need for modification.\n
  • Design images/maps of controlled systems within a building.\n

\n \nRepairs/Service:\n \n \n

  • Repair or service heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to improve efficiency.\n
  • Repair/Replace worn, damaged, or defective control components.\n
  • Discuss heating or cooling system malfunction with user to isolate problems or to verify that repairs corrected malfunctions.\n
  • Recommend, develop, or perform preventive or general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning or tightening terminals.\n
  • Advise others on issues related to repairs, installation, or equipment design.\n
  • Troubleshoots and resolves malfunctions and makes recommendations that will improve efficiency or quality of operations.\n
  • Provide program modification to achieve proper system operation.\n

\n \nAdjustments:\n \n \n

  • Adjust system controls to settings recommended by manufacturer to balance system.\n
  • Adjust equipment, such as thermostats, to ensure optimal performance\n

\n \nDocumentation:\n \n \n

  • Record and report time, materials, faults, deficiencies, or other unusual occurrences on work orders.\n
  • Complete customer service and expense reports.\n
  • Document operational activities.\n
  • Compile job documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training forms, training certificates and punch lists.\n
  • Provide sketches or make drawing modifications as needed for accurate project documentation.\n

\n \nTraining:\n \n \n

  • Instruct individuals on how to properly and efficiently operate tools and equipment.\n
  • Help individuals understand how to affectively implement ideas.\n
  • Guide individuals through the work day to assist with any needed tasks.\n
  • Suggest new ways of doing or thinking about tasks to improve efficiency and/or quality of work.\n
