Job description

The Grants and Federal Programs Technician will be responsible for interfacing with the Executive Director of Grants and Federal Programs, Director of Federal Compliance, grant coordinators, and others to assist with the implementation of federal grant budgets while ensuring that all expenditures are in compliance with grant guidelines.

Reports To: Director of Federal Compliance

Scope of Responsibility:

  • Accurately processes supplemental payroll in a timely manner;

  • Records and maintains accurate budget expenditures;

  • Places and receives orders in the district’s purchasing system;

  • Efficiently processes invoices and ensures sufficient documentation is obtained;

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Instructional Allocation.

Requirements

We seek detail-oriented, independent self-starters who demonstrate an unwavering commitment to raising student achievement and who have a record of high performance in challenging situations. Successful candidates will also demonstrate and/or possess:

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a school or office.

  • Exceptional attention to detail in ensuring accurate data-processing.

  • Understanding of school and district budget requirements, including knowledge of

purchasing, accounts payable, payroll, and reimbursement procedures.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain cooperative and effective working

relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • High degree of professionalism, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities,

while consistently demonstrating sound judgment and disciplined thinking.

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Desirable Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of the organization and administration of school system.

  • Experience with creating and using Excel spreadsheets.

Physical Involvement:

Sitting is required most of each work day. Must be able to operate office equipment. Standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds is sometimes required. Ability to provide own transportation to work locations and meeting sites. Mobility skills necessary to access a variety of work locations, including locations not on the ground floor.
