Job description

The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance., SUMMARY Provide office support for instructional school teams handling 504 plans for students with disabilities who need accommodations to ensure that they are able to receive the same learning experience as their peers. Assist in scheduling evaluations, coordinating data, family communications, monitoring due dates, coordinating with central teams, etc. Provide high customer service experience to families.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Coordinate assessment data for the school?s MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) process.

Support administrator(s) and teachers with the scheduling of meetings for special populations; particularly regarding 504 Reviews, Re-Evaluations, and Review meetings, while also inviting key stakeholders to meetings as directed.

Prepare documents for 504 meetings. Send 504 plan to all necessary stakeholders.

Provide 504 related support for students transitioning to/from school to other locations in the district (e.g. elementary age student moving to middle school).

Support 504 Team Leads and 504 Team members during 504 meetings

Communicate with family, staff, and students regarding coordination of 504 processes.

Assist School Assessment Coordinator (SAC) with coordination and scheduling of all school assessments (e.g. CMAS, MAP, AP, SAT, PSAT, ACT, Accuplacer, Workkeys, ASVAB, etc.).

Monitor and submit 504 testing accommodations into College Board?s SSD platform for students on 504 plans.

Monitor due dates, processes (i.e., 504 evaluations, reviews, or reevaluations), and complete tasks in a timely manner consistent with federal Section 504 compliance.

Attend training related to assessment coordinator, in collaboration with SAC. Assist with 504 training for school staff.

Act as a contact for parents about reaching accommodations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years related experience. Experience in department/unit functions preferred.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma/GED required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS: None Required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Requires oral and written communications, interpersonal, organizational, public relations, phone etiquette, and advanced computer and software skills (Microsoft Office - Windows, Word, Excel as well as web-based tools - MAP, CMAS, Lexia, Moby Max etc.), Internet, e-mail and general office equipment at time of hire. Ability to prioritize multiple and competing requests and tasks. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to focus on objects at varying distances and distinguish between colors (with corrective lenses). Perform tasks that require manual dexterity, including operation of computers & small office equipment. Basic mobility and the ability to navigate the office environment safely. Ability to speak clearly, listen attentively (with assistance devices), and convey information accurately.

MENTAL FUNCTIONS: Ability to analyze situations and devise effective solutions. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with other teams. Ability to manage time and priorities to meet deadlines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work will be primarily performed in school offices. Typical secondary school campus may also contain libraries, science labs, computer labs, kitchens, auditoriums, gymnasiums & athletic fields, and possibly specialized shops.
