GIS Technician

Henderson Municipal Power & Light (HMP&L), an electric utility and fiber provider in Henderson, Kentucky, is seeking a Geographic Information System (GIS) Technician for the electric department. Duties include gathering/verifying data, creating and maintaining maps, drawings and records of the HMP&L utility system and preparing work orders. This is not a remote work position. Minimum requirements include: high school diploma or GED and completion of a vocational/technical training program with emphasis in GIS mapping and software or degree in GIS or equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job; and a minimum of one year GIS experience. Requirements include: a valid driver’s license; residency within a defined distance from the Service Center Complex; must pass a drug/alcohol screen, physical exam, and background check upon conditional offer of employment; and no DUI convictions in the previous

Preferred requirements include: ESRI experience; experience in the utility industry; and computer literacy.
