Insight Global is seeking a Cloud Architect / Cloud Engineer for a leading healthcare organization in Maryland. This consultant will step in as a subject matter expert to rapidly rebuild and enhance an AWS-hosted chatbot platform used in a cancer patient research study. The environment supports voice-based patient engagement via Alexa, capturing daily symptom data and integrating with downstream analytics systems. This individual will focus on rebuilding core infrastructure, reconnecting AWS services, and implementing key enhancements-most notably a secure OAuth 2.0 authentication flow and user authentication framework to support patient privacy and de-identification requirements. Additional responsibilities include documenting and diagramming the AWS architecture, establishing testing and validation processes, and providing knowledge transfer to internal teams for future maintenance. The ideal candidate is highly hands-on, able to move quickly, and experienced in standing up secure cloud-native applications while collaborating with cross-functional data science and clinical teams. Experience with Power BI reporting and analytics is a plus as future project phases may include dashboard development and patient response visualization.

Day-to-Day:

  • Rebuild and document the existing AWS-based chatbot infrastructure

  • Create AWS architecture diagrams and technical documentation for future internal team maintenance

  • Recreate integrations between AWS services, LLM functionality, and external APIs

  • Implement OAuth 2.0 authentication and user authentication protocols to support secure patient de-identification requirements

  • Configure AWS infrastructure, including Lambda, EC2, load balancing, IAM roles, security groups, S3 storage, and secure networking

  • Enhance architecture to support updates for a new research study

  • Conduct testing and validation across authentication, voice interactions, data storage/retrieval, and backup procedures

  • Ensure secure, scalable, and reliable cloud environment

  • Collaborate with data science and clinical teams (no chatbot design required)

Provide architecture guidance, knowledge transfer, and best practices to internal teams
