Information Technology Associate

Under general supervision of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), a C.E.A A, this position is responsible for protecting STO’s digital assets and sensitive information from cyber threats.

The Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible for monitoring network and systems security, identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security measures, conducting security assessments, responding to incidents, and staying updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and threats. They work to ensure the organization’s systems and data are secure, compliant with regulations, and resilient against cyberattacks.

In addition to evaluating each candidate’s relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Experience: Prior experience in cybersecurity is preferred but not required.
• Technical Expertise: The candidate should possess current or previous experience working in a Microsoft Windows environment and have experience with scripting or automation. Knowledge of Microsoft 365, cybersecurity principles, and security-related tools is highly desirable.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. The candidate must be able to clearly articulate technical concepts and recommendations.
• Continuous Learning: Cybersecurity is a rapidly evolving field. The successful candidate should demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and the ability to adapt to emerging technologies, threats, and industry best practices.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule which includes up to three days of remote work per week. Additional in office days may be required based on the business need.

The State Treasurer’s Office is a small department located in the historical Unruh Building at 915 Capitol Mall, close to the State Capitol, public transportation and with parking garage options nearby. The building is adjacent to the State Capitol Park, which is a wonderful place to exercise and enjoy the beautiful landscape during the fair-weathered months. The neighborhood around the building is filled with endless dining options, coffee shops, fitness clubs and conveniences like corner stores, etc.
