Job description

Under the general supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor II, and the direction of the on-site Information Technology Specialist I, the incumbent provides associate-level Service Desk support, which includes daily phone/e-mail/ticket requests for all IT customers at the Canyon Springs Community Facility.

Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three percent in exchange for five hours per month of the Personal Leave.

Requirements

In addition to evaluating each candidate’s relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

Knowledge of: Microsoft Windows 11; PC Hardware, components, and accessories; Apple iOS, Microsoft Office 365; printer management; Microsoft Active Directory; Microsoft SCCM; Microsoft Intune; video conferencing.

Ability to: Develop and maintain cooperative and harmonious relationships within the Department and regional centers, the public, and others; maintain a calm demeanor under pressure; demonstrate consistency in attendance; work with professional personnel in the field relating to coordinating and developing services for persons with developmental needs; analyze situations accurately and take effective action; speak and write effectively; reason logically and creatively; analyze data and present ideas and information effectively.

Benefits & conditions

Work on a computer a majority of the time. Occasional after-hours work to resolve IT issues. Occasionally required to move and transport items weighing up to 25 pounds. Must be able to commute to remote work sites.

This position requires lawful authorization to work in the United States. Canyon Springs is located in Riverside County in Cathedral City, 110 miles southeast of Los Angeles in the Coachella Valley. Recreation/cultural attractions include golf, tennis, desert preserves, parks, rock climbing, hiking, biking, museums, art galleries, and theater. Next door is well-known city of Palm Springs. Although known as a winter resort area, increasing numbers are making the Coachella Valley their year-round home. There are schools, and shopping in the area.
