Job description

Seneca Resources is seeking a Data Analyst to support a high-impact HR and business operations team. This role is ideal for a data-driven professional who enjoys transforming complex datasets into actionable business insights. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to collect, validate, analyze, and report on enterprise data that supports strategic decision-making., * Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements.

  • Perform data extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation, and quality assurance activities.
  • Develop technical documentation, including data definitions, business rules, metadata, and governance procedures.
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
  • Perform data quality audits to ensure compliance with reporting standards and governance requirements.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities that support business objectives.
  • Write SQL queries and perform data research to support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.
  • Prepare descriptive statistics and analytical summaries for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Support business intelligence and data science initiatives through data preparation and analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on enterprise reporting projects and continuous process improvements.
  • Communicate analytical findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has strong analytical abilities, experience with SQL and data visualization tools, and a passion for data quality, governance, and business intelligence. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to enterprise-wide reporting initiatives while working in a collaborative hybrid environment., * Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline.

  • 2-5 years of professional experience in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, Reporting, or Data Analytics.
  • Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries.
  • Working knowledge of Python or R for data analysis and automation.
  • Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Excel, or other data visualization tools.
  • Strong understanding of data cleansing, preprocessing, validation, and quality assurance techniques.
  • Knowledge of data governance principles, metadata management, and data integrity best practices.
  • Experience interpreting statistical data and performing analytical research.
  • Ability to analyze structured and unstructured datasets to generate meaningful business insights.
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams., * Experience supporting HR, business operations, or enterprise reporting initiatives.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence, reporting, and data science methodologies.
  • Experience working in Agile or enterprise project environments.
