The IT Support Technician supports the IHS PATH EHR MTK Team. The technician will be responsible for setting up and configuring Mobile Training Kits (MTKs) on location, imaging devices, establishing network connections, installing software, and performing troubleshooting as needed, while ensuring kit inventory accuracy. This role also assists with various tasks assigned by the IT Logistics Manager and collaborates with site personnel to support IT-MTK-related activities. Responsibilities include verifying records, inspecting shipments for quality and accuracy, and documenting any discrepancies. The technician must possess strong technical skills, including hardware setup, networking, software installation, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications., * Set up, configure, and tear down MTKs on location, including hardware assembly and software installation.
- Image devices and ensure proper system configuration.
- Establish network connections and verify connectivity for MTKs.
- Install required applications and perform troubleshooting for hardware and software issues.
- Verify kit inventory accuracy and maintain detailed records.
- Report the status of all MTK setups, incidents, requests, and issues to the IT Logistics Manager.
- Coordinate with IHS entities to resolve technical issues and ensure successful MTK deployments.
- Troubleshoot, prioritize, research, and document user problems thoroughly and accurately within tickets. If unable to resolve an issue, escalate to the proper higher-tier team in accordance with escalation guidelines.
- Provide end-user support for hardware, software, and associated peripherals supporting the MTK.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for quality and accuracy; document any discrepancies.
- Package parts securely for outgoing shipments.
- Keep the work area clean and organized, Moderate sound (ex. Business office with office machines and computers, people traffic), some outdoor weather conditions and all routine job tasks inherent in position; the ability to stand and walk 1/3 to 2/3 of the time; the ability to talk or hear; use hands and fingers to handle and feel; close vision; lift and move up to 100 pounds; color vision; depth perception and ability to correct and adjust focus.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, business, Communications or a related field is preferred or four (4) to six (6) years of equivalent experience.
- Must possess a valid PIV or the ability to acquire one at the start of employment.
Preferred Experience:
- Demonstrated incident, problem, and request management processes leveraging the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) service framework and best practices.
- Experience working in an IHS environment
- Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
