Job description
An employer is looking for an AWS Data Architect to join their team in downtown Boston 3x a week. This person will spend their time leading architecture design efforts for a large-scale AWS-based data platform, partnering closely with senior architects, product managers, and engineering leaders. He/she will work with stakeholders to review requirements, translate them into high-level architectural vision, and produce detailed blueprint and design documents for implementation by engineering teams. On a regular basis, they’ll collaborate across a broad ecosystem of product, data, and software teams, providing architectural guidance and influencing technology decisions without owning direct delivery. This person will engage periodically with multiple scrum teams to ensure architectural alignment while remaining focused on strategic and platform-level concerns. Mentoring engineers and architects will be a core part of the day, helping teams apply best practices in data modeling, cloud-native design, and scalable analytics. He/she will also contribute to longer-term platform strategy, evaluating emerging technologies and shaping the future direction of the data architecture. The work is highly architecture-focused, balancing hands-on design with strategic leadership across a complex, enterprise environment.
