Job description

This role is a senior leader role which will establish a team in partnership with their peers to develop and implement simulations and digital twins supporting automation and robotics. They will be responsible for a futuristic roadmap. They will also lead the charge on neural network-based simulations.

What You Will Have :

  • Hire and develop ateam of simulation,softwareand rendering/visualization engineers focused on VLA based robotics.
  • Work with management to bring skills related tostatistical and neural network-basedsimulationto Caterpillar.
  • Work withpeers andmanagement to define thelong-termvision,forroboticssimulationand allied platform.
  • Partner with leadershipand peerstoestablishamulti-yearsimulation and digital twin roadmap,supporting automation and robotics.
  • Translatebusinessand autonomy requirementsintosimulationsolutions.Identifyingwhere simulations and digital twins can support robotics.
  • Determinethetechnologies,andsimulation capabilitiesfor the futureof robotics.
  • Work closely with engineering, autonomy, controls, software, product teams, and enterprise data groups to ensure simulation solutions meet business outcomes and integrate seamlessly with existing systems.
  • Assess currentsimulationassets across Caterpillar and define the strategy to integrate, extend, orconsolidatethem into a cohesive digital ecosystemsupporting robotics.

Requirements

  • 10+yearmanagement experience inrobotics and/or simulationand/orsoftware.Start-up preferred.
  • 8+ years in simulation,roboticsor autonomy-with direct experience deployingOmniverse-baseddigital twins strongly preferred.
  • A solid background in construction, miningautomationand robotics will be preferred.
  • Very strongbackground in statisticaland neural networksimulation.
  • Track recordinestablishingnew organizations.
  • Deep understanding of simulation architecture,robotics,model governance, verification/validation practices, and integration of simulations withreal-timedata sources.
  • Proven ability to work with senior management toestablishvision, strategy, andmulti-yearroadmaps.
  • Excellent communication skills for translating complex technical concepts into actionable business insights.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science,Robotics,Mathematicsor related discipline (Master’sor PhD preferred).
