Job description

U.S. Bank is looking for a talented Data Architect to join our dynamic Finance & People Systems technology team. The Data Architect role will be responsible for designing complex solutions from the beginning, automation and controls as well as developing operational processes to support and maintain our data solutions across multiple products, working with the business to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and accessibility of data. The Data Architect uses strategic analysis and enterprise-wide technology experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. The Data Architect leads the research, design, development, and integration of emerging technology architectures to align with business strategy, goals, and objectives. The Data Architect leads development of enterprise-wide technology architectures. Creates architectural principles to support business goals. Consults with senior managers and other technology professionals to develop technology frameworks that support business applications. Understands and models key business processes, business relationships, and impact of technology on business goals. Formulates conceptual architectures and communicates architectural vision, goals, and design objectives to multiple audiences. Leads the development of technology strategies and roadmaps for emerging technologies, evaluating usefulness, and making recommendations regarding selected technologies. Assists senior managers in developing the Technology vision and strategy. Guides and consults with technology teams and business management regarding use of specific technologies and associated services. Identifies risks associated with current or new technology use.

  • Optimize and maintain data architecture and pipelines, aligning data warehouse and ETL design principles and business goals.
  • Create solutions that ensure scale stability, are foundational for business analytics and support operational efficiency.
  • Design conceptual and logical data models and data flows ensuring data security and compliance with Financial and Banking industry regulations.
  • Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions and reduce data integrations by developing solutions that bring the business closer to real time data.
  • Advise, consult, mentor and coach engineers and stakeholders on data engineering capabilities, standards, and practices.
  • Lead evaluation, implementation and deployment of emerging tools and process for analytic data engineering to improve our productivity as a team.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant experience and proficiency in service-oriented architecture, web services, database management systems, data warehouse technologies, data modelling and scripting languages like SQL, NoSQL, Python, Java and ETL tools.
  • Proven experience as a data architect in the financial industry with knowledge of data governance practices and compliance requirements.
  • Extensive experience in designing complex data architectures, managing large datasets, and leading data-related initiatives.
  • Product and vendor evaluation.
  • Application delivery process., * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years’ experience with the concepts, philosophies, and tools behind the design of large data warehouses, applications, and underlying information technologies.
  • 6+ years’ experience with developing and implementing applications.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,595.00 - $140,700.00 - $154,770.00
