  • Develop and maintain advanced data models for large-scale data warehousing projects, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Lead system design for system development initiatives, including ETL processes using Informatica, SQL, Spark, Hadoop, and other big data tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define master data management strategies that unify business-critical information across systems.
  • Architect and optimize NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or MongoDB for flexible, high-speed data access.
  • Conduct performance tuning and scalability assessments to enhance system efficiency in high-volume environments.
  • Oversee the integration of linked data principles to enable semantic interoperability and richer analytics capabilities.
  • Drive best practices in data modeling projects, ensuring consistency and accuracy in complex data ecosystems.
  • Support business intelligence initiatives by designing systems that facilitate insightful analytics and reporting.

Requirements

  • Proven experience designing enterprise-level data architectures with a strong focus on cloud database solutions such as AWS or Azure.
  • Extensive knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) alongside traditional RDBMS like Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
  • Hands-on expertise with big data frameworks including Spark, Hadoop, and related tools for large-scale data processing.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex data modeling projects with a focus on scalability, performance tuning, and system integration.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools such as Informatica or equivalent for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
  • Strong background in system design for system development (SDSD), emphasizing modularity and maintainability in large systems.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments to deliver iterative improvements rapidly.
  • Knowledge of linked data concepts and their application in enhancing analytics capabilities through semantic interoperability.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, Bash (Unix shell), supporting automation and custom development tasks.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly across teams while maintaining a focus on innovative solutions that drive business value.

Benefits & conditions

$70 - $75 an hour - Contract
