We’re seeking a Senior Solutions Architect with deep expertise designing, governing, and evolving complex retail store technology ecosystems. In this role, you will define the architectural vision and technical direction for critical store systems, ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and aligned with enterprise strategy across a global footprint. You will work as a senior technical authority across Store Systems, partnering closely with Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, Operations, Product, and Vendor teams. Your work will shape how our POS, in store services, integrations, and platforms evolve-balancing long term architectural integrity with the immediate needs of a fast paced retail environment. This position is ideal for architects who operate comfortably at both strategic and execution levels, who deeply understand store operations, and who influence outcomes across multiple teams and programs., Enterprise Store Systems Architecture & Strategy

  • Own and evolve the end-to-end architecture for major store system domains, including POS, in-store applications, services, and integrations.
  • Define architectural roadmaps that guide modernization, platform evolution, and technical investment decisions.
  • Establish and govern architecture standards across Oracle Xstore, Java and .NET services, APIs (REST and SOAP), microservices, and web applications (React or Angular).
  • Act as an architectural escalation point for complex, cross-cutting technical challenges.

Platform Modernization & Integration Leadership

  • Drive architectural direction for transitioning legacy and monolithic store components toward service-oriented and microservices architectures.
  • Define and enforce API, integration, and data contract standards across internal and third-party systems.
  • Design integration strategies that support real-time, near-real-time, and batch interactions across store and enterprise platforms.
  • Provide technical leadership in designing cloud, hybrid, and store-resident solutions leveraging Azure.

Reliability, Compliance & Global Scale

  • Architect solutions that meet the demands of large-scale, global retail deployments, including regional variance and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure architectural designs incorporate resiliency, offline operation, failover, startup health, and recovery strategies required for store environments.
  • Partner with Security, Risk, and Compliance teams to define architectures that meet fiscalization, tax, privacy, and certification requirements across countries.

DevOps, Observability & Operational Architecture

  • Define architectural approaches for CI/CD pipelines, deployment models, and environment lifecycle management.
  • Ensure observability and operability are first-class concerns in all architectures, including logging, metrics, traces, alerting, dashboards, and health checks.
  • Influence operational design decisions to reduce downtime, improve diagnosability, and improve mean time to recovery (MTTR).
  • Partner with Operations and Support teams to align architecture with real-world support and incident response needs.

Technical Leadership & Influence

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior engineering leaders, product partners, and executive stakeholders.
  • Lead architecture reviews, design authorities, and technology evaluations across multiple teams and initiatives.
  • Mentor engineers and architects, raising the overall architectural maturity of the organization.
  • Clearly document and communicate architecture decisions, tradeoffs, and principles to both technical and non-technical audiences., At Foot Locker, we value innovation, authenticity, and integrity in all that we do.
