Software Development Engineer, Amazon Ads Nova

Own and lead the technical strategy for a business-critical initiative to design, develop, launch, and maintain AI-powered advertising solutions that simplify the advertiser experience across strategic verticals

• Partner closely with a Principal Engineer and Scientists to define the engineering and technical roadmap, translating ambiguous business problems into scalable system architectures
• Design and build end-to-end services and platforms from the ground up, making foundational technical decisions that will shape the product for years to come
• Drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, science, and product teams to deliver integrated solutions that balance advertiser needs with customer experience
• Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies-including agentic AI models-to accelerate product development and unlock new advertising capabilities
• Mentor engineers, establish engineering best practices, and raise the technical bar as the team scales
• Influence the long-term technical vision while delivering iterative, high-impact results in a fast-paced startup environment

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
