Business Intelligence Analyst

The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst plays a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the bank. This role develops and maintains financial and operational reporting, dashboards, forecasts, and analytical models to enhance budgeting, probability, analysis, and performance measurement. • Transforms raw data into meaningful insights through the design, development, and maintenance of reporting tools, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
• Consults with business units to identify data needs, potential solutions, and further reporting possibilities.
• Collaborates with business units to design business intelligence presentations form ad-hoc report to Microsoft Power BI dashboards and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
• Analyzes data from disparate databases or data sources to produce dashboards, metrics, or insights to identify trends or anomalies.
• Supports the annual budgeting process, long-range financial planning, and periodic forecasting by developing analytical models and reporting tools.
• Evaluates existing business unit reports and recommends new technologies or enhancements that have the potential to improve business units information for data driven decisions.
• Coordinates with business units for testing, quality assurance, and ensure functionality of dashboards or other presentations are acceptable.
• Ensures data accuracy, consistency, and alignment across all reporting platforms.
• Uses advanced techniques, theories, and processes to complete work and improve processes.
• Participates in the development of the organization’s long-term BI strategy.
• Works closely with all business units throughout the bank.
• Work closely with other teams in Finance and business units in a timely and professional manner.
• Complete training to stay current on recent technology, banking, and analytic trends.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, profitability analysis, and financial performance reporting required.
• Familiarity with banking financial statements, key performance indicators (KPIs), and regulatory reporting concepts preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure Fabric for database design, query and reporting.
• Working knowledge of SQL scripting.

Education or Formal Training:

• BA/BS degree in Finance, Computer Science, Economics, Business or equivalent industry certifications.
• Two or more years working with Microsoft Power BI.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Colorado Driver’s License is required.

Experience:

• 3 years’ experience as business analyst or business Intelligence., While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This is largely a sedentary role.
