Job description

The Applications Programmer - Senior is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. They lead development efforts, mentor junior team members, and contribute to architectural decisions to ensure scalable and maintainable codebases., * Develop software based on requirements developed by Computer Systems Analysts to meet the business solution needed at an enterprise level. All work is within the application development framework used by the organization.

  • Collaborate with Computer Systems Analysts to fulfill the client’s goals to implement the business solution.
  • Proficiently execute all work using the tools and techniques implemented by the DLA client and our team for this project.
  • Work directly with Systems Architects to develop and implement new third-party applications, tools, and programming libraries to meet DLA’s development goals.
  • Utilize web-based software such as Java, HTML, .NET, AngularJS, JavaScript, SOAP, REST API, mobile development, and Web Based API in building software applications., Software Development & Architecture
  • Design and develop complex software solutions using best practices and modern technologies.
  • Ensure code quality through design reviews, code reviews, and adherence to development standards.
  • Lead architectural discussions and contribute to implementing and deploying technology strategies.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to mid-level and junior developers.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the development team.
  • Lead by example in writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

Agile Team Collaboration

  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and Agile ceremonies.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, QA engineers, and Computer Systems Analysts to deliver value-driven features.
  • Drive technical discussions and decision-making within the team.

Performance & Optimization

  • Identify bottlenecks and optimize application performance.
  • Implement and advocate for secure coding practices.
  • Ensure maintainability and scalability of software solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related Discipline.
  • 10 years of professional software development experience.
  • Expert experience and knowledge of sustainment lifecycle management activities for programs and project operations.
  • Proven experience incorporating AI-enabled tools and workflows by integrating AI into analyzing and problem solving.
  • Experience in leading software development teams or projects.
  • Experience with application programming interfaces (APIs) to support Low-Code/No Code Development Platform models.
  • Experience using low-code/no-code business process modeling notation (BPMN) tools.
  • Experience developing application/process automation software based on BPMN models.
  • Experience using software tools such as Appian, Salesforce, Nintex, etc. with Microsoft SQL Server databases and Microsoft .NET development environment.
  • Experience in agile and hybrid low-code application development.
  • Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
  • Position Sensitivity: Non-Critical Sensitive (Formerly IT-II or IT-2).
  • Investigation Requirements: Must possess a favorable Tier 3 (T3) Secret Clearance.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience supporting the DLA Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) or the DLA Enterprise Logistics Management System (ELMS).
