Job description

We are seeking an experienced IBM i (AS/400 / iSeries) Engineer to support, develop, and enhance enterprise applications running on the IBM i platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in RPG programming, CL, DB2 for i, and IBM i system administration. This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders, application teams, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality solutions., Design, develop, maintain, and support applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform. Develop and maintain applications using RPG III, RPG IV (ILE RPG), RPG Free, CL, and SQL RPGLE. Create and maintain DB2 for i database objects, stored procedures, triggers, and SQL queries. Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis. Optimize application performance and improve system efficiency. Support batch processing, job scheduling, and system monitoring. Perform code reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams during system upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives. Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and development standards. Participate in on-call production support as required. Required Technical Skills

Requirements

IBM i modernization experience. Knowledge of API integration and web enablement. Experience with Java or .NET integration with IBM i. Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD. Cloud integration experience is a plus. Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies., Bachelor’’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5-12+ years of hands-on IBM i (AS/400) development experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently and within distributed global teams. Nice to Have

Experience in Manufacturing, Banking, Insurance, Retail, or Supply Chain domains. IBM certifications related to IBM i. Experience with application modernization and legacy transformation projects. Key Competencies
