Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior IBM i Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications on the IBM i platform (formerly known as iSeries/AS/400), leveraging RPG (free and fixed format), CL, SQL, and DB2. You will play a key role in modernizing legacy systems, integrating with third-party solutions, and ensuring performance and reliability of core business applications., Design, develop, and maintain IBM i (AS/400) applications using RPG IV / RPGLE (free and fixed), CL, SQL, DDL, and DDS. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely and efficient manner. Modernize legacy applications and participate in system integration projects (e.g., REST APIs, web services). Create and maintain technical documentation. Ensure adherence to development standards. Support production deployments and general support, including occasional after-hours or on-call support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, QA, and project management.

Requirements

7+ years of experience in IBM i (AS/400) development. Expertise in RPG III / RPG IV / RPGLE (free-form and fixed-form), CL, and embedded SQL. Must be able to code in fully free RPG. Experience with the IFS. Experience with ACS. Strong knowledge of DB2 for i, including database design, optimization, and query tuning. Familiarity with source control tools (e.g., Git, Aldon, TurnOver). Familiarity with IDE tools (e.g., RDi, Visual Studio Code). Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team. Strong communication and documentation skills., Experience with IBM i web services (REST/SOAP), XML, JSON. Experience with application modernization and integration using APIs, web services, or message queues.
