Job description

cPort Credit Union is currently seeking an Information Technology Specialist (IT Specialist). The IT Specialist provides technical support and technology administration across the credit union. This role is responsible for end-user support, management of the IT ticketing system, Microsoft 365 administration, endpoint management, technology equipment maintenance, vendor coordination, and support of core banking system integrations and related technologies.

Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Specialist works closely with employees, third-party vendors, and the credit union’s managed service provider (MSP) to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient technology operations while supporting the organization’s strategic technology initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

End User Support

  • Provide support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, headsets, and other technology equipment.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
  • Respond to and resolve support requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist employees with technology onboarding, training, and daily support needs.

Ticketing & Service Management

  • Own and manage the internal IT ticketing system.
  • Track, prioritize, document, and resolve IT incidents and service requests.
  • Maintain IT documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles.

Microsoft & Identity Administration

  • Support administration of Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive, in coordination with the managed service provider (MSP).
  • Manage user accounts, licensing, permissions, and security groups within Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Assist with Azure administration and email security platforms such as Proofpoint, in coordination with the MSP.
  • Support account provisioning, maintenance, and deprovisioning processes.

Endpoint & Device Management

  • Configure, deploy, and support desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Assist with device management platforms, software deployment, patching, and endpoint security.
  • Support hardware lifecycle management including equipment setup, replacement, and disposal.

Banking Technology & Integrations

  • Support technology components that interface with the credit union’s core banking environment.
  • Assist with the administration, maintenance, testing, and ongoing enhancement of PowerFrame documents, forms, templates, workflows, and related processes supporting lending and operational activities.
  • Assist with third-party applications, file transfers, and related peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity and operational issues between internal systems and external vendors.
  • Coordinate testing and implementation of technology changes impacting business applications.

Infrastructure & Vendor Coordination

  • Assist with administration and maintenance of the organization’s server, network, and cloud environments, in coordination with the MSP.
  • Work with the managed service provider and technology vendors on support requests, troubleshooting, upgrades, and projects.
  • Assist with monitoring technology systems and escalating issues to the MSP as needed.

Equipment & Asset Management

  • Track and manage technology equipment throughout its lifecycle, including deployment, replacement, and disposal.
  • Manage inventory of laptops, desktops, printers, cameras, and other IT assets.

Project Participation

  • Participate in technology projects, system upgrades, equipment refreshes, software implementations, and branch technology improvements.
  • Assist with planning, testing, deployment, and user communication for new technology initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant education, coursework, or technical training preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and common business technology.
  • IT, customer service, or technology support experience preferred, with basic hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Strong customer service, communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment.
