Job description
- Deliver classroom and laboratory instruction in Computer Service & Information Technology courses.
- Teach installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of desktop and laptop computers.
- Instruct students in:
- Computer hardware and peripherals
- Operating systems (Windows and basic Linux)
- Networking fundamentals
- Cybersecurity fundamentals
- Mobile device support
- Cloud computing concepts
- Microsoft Office and productivity applications
- Customer service and technical support
- IT documentation and ticketing systems
- Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications such as:
- CompTIA A+
- Network+
- Security+
- IT Fundamentals (ITF+)
- Microsoft certifications (preferred)
- Develop lesson plans, classroom activities, and laboratory exercises aligned with state curriculum frameworks.
- Evaluate student progress through written assessments, practical demonstrations, projects, and competency-based evaluations.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment.
- Monitor laboratory safety and ensure proper use of equipment.
- Maintain and update computer labs, software, and instructional technology.
- Advise and mentor students regarding academic progress, career pathways, certifications, internships, and employment opportunities.
- Collaborate with faculty, administrators, advisory committees, and business partners to ensure curriculum remains current with industry needs.
- Participate in professional development and maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies.
- Assist with recruitment, retention, career fairs, advisory committee meetings, and program accreditation activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements

The instructor will deliver hands-on, competency-based instruction aligned with industry standards while fostering professionalism, critical thinking, and technical excellence.
The ideal candidate possesses strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping adult learners and high school students develop workforce-ready skills., * At least 6 years of documentable work experience in the computer and information technology field.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- PC hardware repair
- Windows operating systems
- Networking
- Troubleshooting
- Customer technical support
- Current industry certifications such as:
- CompTIA A+
- Network+
- Security+
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience in Career and Technical Education, community college, or adult education.
- Experience with virtualization technologies.
- Experience with Active Directory and Windows Server.
- Experience supporting cloud-based services including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
