Job description

  • Provide comprehensive technical support to staff and students, resolving issues related to hardware, software, operating systems, and network connectivity with enthusiasm and precision.
  • Manage help desk systems to track, prioritize, and resolve support tickets efficiently, ensuring timely assistance for all users.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot computer networking components such as LAN (Local Area Network), TCP/IP protocols, DNS (Domain Name System), VPN (Virtual Private Network), firewalls, and switches to guarantee reliable connectivity.
  • Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals across multiple operating systems including Windows, macOS, Linux, and Microsoft Windows Server environments.
  • Administer Active Directory management tasks such as user account creation, permissions management, GPO (Group Policy Object) application, and password resets to uphold security standards.
  • Assist with IT infrastructure projects involving computer hardware upgrades, network improvements, and software installations to optimize system performance.
  • Collaborate with staff on technical troubleshooting support for equipment issues or software malfunctions while delivering exceptional customer service that fosters trust and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in IT support roles within educational or similar environments; familiarity with K-12 technology needs is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and proficiency in troubleshooting common software issues.
  • Expertise in computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN setup, TCP/IP configuration, DNS management, VPNs, firewalls, and TCP protocols.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11), macOS devices, Linux distributions, and Microsoft Windows Server platforms.
  • Skilled in Active Directory management-creating user accounts, managing permissions-and implementing GPO policies effectively.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware problems related to computers and peripherals as well as software conflicts or network disruptions swiftly.
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach to technical support; capable of translating complex issues into understandable solutions.
  • Familiarity with help desk systems for ticket management and documentation; experience with computer management tools is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of security protocols including firewall configuration and VPN setup to safeguard district data assets.
