Job description

We are seeking a motivated Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Imagery Analyst to support the evaluation and characterization of SAR imagery for current and emerging sensor systems. The successful candidate will assess SAR image quality, identify artifacts and anomalies, and evaluate the impact of system and processing changes on exploitation performance. This role requires expertise throughout the SAR tasking, collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination (TCPED) lifecycle, as well as a strong understanding of SAR phenomenology and image interpretation.

The analyst will collaborate with engineers and mission partners to evaluate new sensor capabilities, validate product quality, and ensure imagery meets operational exploitation requirements. Experience with SAR image quality metrics, exploitation software, and National Image Interpretability Rating Scale (NIIRS) principles is highly desirable. This position plays a critical role in improving the performance, quality, and operational utility of SAR systems supporting our customer’s intelligence mission.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies., * Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline.
  • Experience applying image quality standards and methodologies, including NIIRS, image quality metrics, and image quality equations.
  • Experience evaluating SAR system performance, sensor characterization, or image quality validation.
  • Familiarity with multiple imagery phenomenologies (EO, IR, MSI, FMV) to support comparative image quality assessments.
  • Experience supporting imagery quality evaluations for new sensor development, system upgrades, or operational test and evaluation activities.
