Job description

As a Software Front-End Developer, you will have experience in software engineering and development across the full software life cycle and experience working with DevSecOps processes and cloud platforms. You will design, develop, document, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain front-end applications software for Ground Segment Functions for the iC2 system, supporting the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission. You will have strong verbal and written communication skills and will be expected to operate independently with little oversight in a dynamic environment. You will be highly self-motivated, reporting information to leads and the customer. You will be expected to handle diverse assignments with efficiency, finding unique solutions and working in a very collaborative and fast-paced environment that continues to grow., * Develop software using modern web development frameworks/libraries, such as: Angular, React, Vue.js, or similar.

  • Implement applications software using server-side program languages in Python, C++, Node.js, and Go in a Linux/Unix environment.
  • Design, develop, and govern high-performance services (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and enterprise-level asynchronous messaging (NATS, ActiveMQ) for satellite ground software solutions.
  • Utilize Atlassian tool suite, including Jira dashboards, Confluence knowledge bases, eazyBI reports, custom JQL queries.
  • Execute program tasking and software development using Agile methodologies, cloud platforms, SQL or NoSQL database systems, scalable database schemas and optimized queries.
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration, enabling timely development and deployment of satellite ground software solutions.
  • Own development and execution of features for satellite ground systems domain, with familiarity in reading CAMEO/MBSE models.

Requirements

  • Software Front-End Developer - Level 3: 5 years of software development experience with Bachelor’s degree; 3 years of stated experience with Master’s degree; 1 year of stated experience with PhD; an additional 4 years of stated experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Software Front-End Developer - Level 4: 8 years of software development experience with Bachelor’s degree; 6 years of stated experience with Master’s degree; 4 years of stated experience with PhD; an additional 4 years of stated experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Must have an active SCI at time of application OR an active TS clearance at time of application with the ability to obtain SCI within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company prior to start date
  • Proficiency in modern web development frameworks or libraries such as Angular, React, Vue.js, or comparable technologies, as well as HTML and CSS
  • Experience with front-end state management (e.g. Redux from React, Ngrx from Angular, Vuex or Pini from Vue.js)
  • Experience with front-end unit test framework or harnesses (e.g. Jest, Playwright, Cypress or similar)
  • Experience with front-end client security and authentication management (e.g. JWT or OAuth tokens or Keycloak)
  • Experience developing applications on Linux/Unix operating systems
  • Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, or gRPC services
  • Basic understanding of asynchronous messaging systems (e.g., NATS, ActiveMQ, etc.)
  • Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL database systems for data-driven application development
  • Exposure to Agile principles, and Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of one or more server-side languages, including Python, Node.js, Go, C++, Java
  • Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Ability to design scalable database schemas and optimize queries
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting CAMEO/MBSE models
  • Previous exposure to developing Command and Control software for Satellite Ground Systems
  • Experience working within a DevOps pipeline
  • Active SCI clearance

Benefits & conditions

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
