Job description

Staff Product Owner - Mobile Apps Backend (Dish Wireless LLC, Denver, Colorado)

Perform Scrum-related and Product Owner-related activities to facilitate participation in Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Demos, and Sprint Retrospectives (10% of the time). Serve as a point of coordination between engineering teams and product stakeholders to support communication and requirement alignment (10% of the time). Communicate product concepts, roadmap information, and progress updates to gather feedback and support cross-functional transparency and alignment (5% of the time). Analyze product and service features into clearly defined user stories and acceptance criteria (10% of the time). Maintain and refine product backlogs by prioritizing and grooming items to support cross functional, full-stack integration teams (5% of the time). Support coordination of cross-team delivery efforts by identifying dependencies and documenting recommended practices (5% of the time). Share information regarding completed work, product backlog status, and Scrum team metrics with relevant stakeholders (5% of the time). Document and communicate product vision, roadmap, and strategy aligned with business objectives for backend services supporting retail wireless operations (10% of the time). Gather, prioritize, and decompose business and technical requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria for microservices, APIs, and system integrations (5% of the time). Coordinate among engineering teams, product stakeholders, and cross-functional partners to support alignment and timely delivery of assigned initiatives (5% of the time). Facilitate backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release coordination activities; track progress and identify issues or dependencies for escalation (5% of the time). Participate in design and deployment activities for backend services, including communication preferences, order tracking, and API integrations, with attention to availability, scalability, and compliance requirements (5% of the time). Coordinate with architecture teams regarding service interfaces and data modeling decisions affecting enterprise systems (5% of the time). Monitor performance metrics and collect user and stakeholder feedback to support continuous improvement of backend products (5% of the time). Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily scrums, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, to support collaboration and delivery timelines (10% of the time).Salary: $138,341 to $157,300 per year.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or its U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Backend Engineer or any occupation, title, or position involving enterprise product ownership, management of product backlogs, coordination of feature delivery, and support of backend or platform-based products.

Must also have experience in the following: 4 years of professional experience utilizing Agile and Scrum methodologies, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and facilitation of Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives; 4 years of professional experience eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements and translating them into user stories and acceptance criteria; 4 years of professional experience supporting backend services and system integrations, including RESTful APIs, microservices-based architectures, and inter-service communication; 4 years of professional experience coordinating and communicating across engineering teams, product stakeholders, and cross-functional partners to support alignment and timely delivery of product initiatives; 4 years of professional experience monitoring product performance metrics, collecting stakeholder feedback, and supporting continuous improvement of backend or platform products; 4 years of professional experience working with cloud-based platforms, including AWS, including cloud-based architecture and deployment; and 4 years of professional experience supporting microservices or serverless application environments, including participation in design, deployment, and integration activities.
