Job description

A large Health Plan & Pension provider is looking for an elite Full Stack Engineer to join the engineering team. The Full Stack Engineer will be responsible for supporting the development and modernization of pension and health plan system and consolidation initiative. This individual will play a key role in building and enhancing both front-end and back-end applications (50/50 split), designing scalable APIs, and integrating complex systems that support pension plan operations. You will work closely with engineering teams, project managers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions within a highly regulated environment.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer working on enterprise-level applications.

  • Strong proficiency in Java and backend development using Spring Framework / Spring Boot.

  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs and RESTful services for system integrations.

  • Hands-on experience with Angular (or similar modern frontend frameworks) for building responsive UI applications.

  • Proven ability to work across the stack (50% frontend / 50% backend) delivering end-to-end features.

  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance applications.

  • Strong understanding of system integration patterns and working with multiple enterprise platforms.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including product, business analysts, and QA.

  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum) and working in sprint-based delivery models.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience working with legacy systems modernization or system consolidation efforts.

  • Exposure to microservices architecture and event-driven systems.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, or DevOps practices.

  • Familiarity with data-heavy applications and working with large datasets. * Background in banking, financial services, or pension/benefits systems (highly preferred).
