Cloud Engineer

his role is on the Container Management Platform team working in Fidelity Architecture and Engineering, who are responsible for enabling the next generation streaming platforms across Fidelity. Best case is someone who started career in software development and transitioned to cloud engineering / Kubernetes work., This Cloud Engineer role focuses on supporting the next generation of streaming platforms. The position is heavily centered on designing, building, deploying, and maintaining Kubernetes environments across AWS (EKS) and Azure (AKS), while contributing to scalable cloud-native infrastructure and automation initiatives. The team values innovation, collaboration, open-source contribution, and continuous learning, with engineers expected to work autonomously in a DevOps-driven environment. Candidates will also work with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools such as Jenkins, and GitOps tooling like ArgoCD.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience and a strong software engineering background before transitioning into cloud and Kubernetes engineering. Required experience includes deep knowledge of Kubernetes core concepts, cluster management, cloud technologies in AWS and/or Azure, and coding expertise in Java or Golang. Experience building Kubernetes operators, custom resources, SDKs in Go or Python, and scalable cloud applications is highly valued. The role is best suited for someone who combines hands-on software development skills with modern cloud infrastructure and platform engineering expertise. Must Have:

• 5+ years of experience as long as they have the software and cloud as noted below:
• Kubernetes (we use both EKS and AKS)
• Build, deploy, and maintain clusters
• Automation tools such as Jenkins
• Expertise in coding in Java or Golang
