Job description
- Communicates effectively and regularly with individuals served, directs line staff, parents/caregivers, Service Coordination, agency nurses and other generic agencies or service providers.
- Keeps the Resource Manager informed of each person’s status, including but not limited to: health, relationships, financial, behavioral support needs and PCP implementation.
- Cooperates with the Resource Manager to ensure all aspects of the program meet the standards expected by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS).
- Assists in the implementation of the Outcome Measurement System/Quality Assurance Program along with other relevant DDA/DORS standards.
- Monitors incident reports to determine classification, accuracy, grammar, provide follow-up documentation, completes Agency Investigation Reports (AIR) in Carematic, and targeted staff training, where applicable.
- Oversees daily operations of Day Services, Community Development Services, and Follow-Along Supports including staff assignments, scheduling of activities, and volunteers.
- Provides training, mentoring, and modeling to direct care staff in the provision of services to individuals served.
- Complete purchase orders for needed supplies for MDS
- Maintains petty cash and individual cash accounts for MDS Program.
- Conducts staff performance evaluations in a timely manner along with the Resource Manager.
- Completes area observations and checklist to assist in providing regular feedback and performance monitoring of staff.
- Seeks sources of non-traditional funding which would directly benefit the individual, agencies or service providers.

Based on the needs of the program, screens and interviews applicants.
- Reports to the Resource Manager the quality of staff interactions.
- Reports health/safety issues to the Resource Manager immediately.
- Assumes all duties, in the absence of the Resource Manager, necessary to provide Meaningful Day Services without interruption including involvement in crisis situations.
- Assists in supervising and evaluating all activities of interns from the local colleges.
- Attends all agency and DDA mandatory trainings as defined in COMAR 10.22.01.11.
- Must attend Safety Committee Meeting, Quality Assurance Committee and Admissions Meetings in the absence of the Resource Manager.
- Attend Western Region Peer Network Meeting and Special Education Advisory Committee Meeting within the community to assist with community relations in the absence of the Resource Manager.
- Maintains confidentiality in all matters related to the consumers program and personal circumstances.
- Assists Resource Manager in the approval of MDS Staff timesheets.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret regulations.
- Effective negotiation and conflict management skills.
- Able to assist in crisis situations.
- Ability to receive and maintain certification as a Certified Medication Technician (CMT).
- Ability to receive and maintain Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) Certification.
- Knowledge in Windows based software (i.e.: Word, Excel, Publisher, Internet Explorer, etc.) and an ability to learn and effectively use other software applications within agency designated time-frame.
- Must possess typing skills sufficient to be productive.
- Valid driver’s license with 3 years of driving experience and an agency approved driving record. DOT certified.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Education and Work Experience: High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a related field.
