Job description
As a CNO Reverse Engineer Level 2 at CyberPoint, you will perform advanced software reverse engineering and vulnerability research in support of mission-driven cyber operations. This role is heavily focused on Windows software reverse engineering, including kernel and driver-level analysis, with additional work in Linux environments. This position requires a strong foundation in low-level software development and reverse engineering, with approximately 75% of the role dedicated to software reverse engineering activities. You will analyze compiled binaries, malware, operating system components and system internals to determine functionality, identify vulnerabilities and enable development of offensive cyber capabilities. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in C/C++ and Assembly with hands-on experience in Windows kernel development, driver development and exploitation techniques within secure mission environments.

What You’ll Do
- Perform static and dynamic reverse engineering of Windows software, kernel components and device drivers.
- Conduct malware analysis and low-level system analysis to determine functionality and identify vulnerabilities.
- Perform vulnerability research and technical assessments aligned to CNO mission objectives.
- Develop proof-of-concept exploits, patches or instrumentation based on reverse engineering findings.
- Develop and analyze software in C, C++, Python and Assembly.
- Support Windows and Linux kernel or driver development efforts.
- Collaborate with engineers and operators to enable advanced offensive cyber capabilities.
- Produce detailed technical documentation, briefings and demonstrations of findings.
- Maintain awareness of current technical trends within the cybersecurity and offensive research community.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline and 8+ years of relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in hardware or software reverse engineering.
- Strong programming skills in Assembly (x86/x64), C, C#, C++, Java, Perl or Python.
- Experience producing and maintaining production-quality software code.
- Hands-on experience with reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, Binary Ninja, GDB or WinDbg.
- Windows software reverse engineering experience.
- Windows kernel development experience.
- Windows driver development experience.
- Experience with Linux systems and kernel or driver development.
- Malware analysis experience.
- Experience conducting vulnerability research and exploitation development.
