Onsite DevOps Engineer (AWS)

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to support a large-scale digital transformation initiative as the organization begins its journey migrating away from a legacy mainframe environment to a modern AWS-based cloud platform. This role will be instrumental in laying the DevOps and cloud foundation, working closely with infrastructure, application, and security teams to define standards, select tools, and establish best practices that will support cloud-native development and operations. The DevOps Engineer will play a hands-on role in automation, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code while also driving documentation, governance, and repeatable processes that enable a successful and scalable migration from on-prem and mainframe systems to the cloud. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building from the ground up and influencing how an organization adopts cloud and DevOps at an enterprise level. This position will have a large emphasis on Terraform for creating infrastructure and utilizing Github Actions for creation of CI/CD pipelines and integration of infrastructure.

6+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or related role

5+years of experience in Terraform with a clear understanding of how to write and troubleshoot terraform scripts and create scripts from scratch

5+ years of experience with Github Actions with the ability to integrate Terraform modules and run pipelines

Experience supporting cloud migrations, including transitioning workloads from mainframe or legacy on-prem environments to the cloud

Experience with or strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code and configuration management concepts

Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation, standards, and best practices for broad team adoption Previous experience in the public sector
