Job description

The Senior Technical Project Manager will lead complex low-voltage infrastructure projects from kick-off to close-out while serving as the primary technical and operational leader throughout project execution.

This is not a traditional project management role. We are looking for someone who understands how structured cabling, fiber, access control, surveillance, wireless and data center projects are installed, tested, documented, and delivered in the field.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning projects, leading technical kick-offs, building field execution plans, coordinating technicians and sub contractors, managing customer relationships, overseeing quality control and ensuring projects are delivered with quality and on schedule.

What you’ll do:

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Manage the complete project lifecycle from project award through customer acceptance and closeout.
  • Develop project schedules, resource plans, implementation strategies, risk mitigation plans, and delivery milestones.
  • Lead multiple concurrent projects ranging from single-site deployments to large multi-site enterprise programs.
  • Track project progress, dependencies, risks, issues, and critical path activities.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to customer requirements.

Project Planning & Technical Execution

  • Develop detailed project implementation plans prior to mobilization, including installation sequencing, site readiness activities, testing requirements, material planning, and project milestones.
  • Review Statements of Work, specifications, floor plans, and customer requirements to develop execution strategies.
  • Conduct technical project kickoff meetings with technicians, subcontractors, and field leadership to ensure a complete understanding of scope, installation standards, safety requirements, deliverables, and customer expectations.
  • Translate project requirements into clear field execution plans that technicians can successfully execute.
  • Identify scope gaps, site constraints, and technical risks before project deployment.
  • Collaborate with Professional Services, Estimating, Resource Management, and Field Services teams to ensure projects are properly planned and staffed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing installation requirements and technical deliverables
  • Supporting material validation and procurement planning
  • Assisting with technical issue resolution and field escalations
  • Reviewing testing documentation and quality deliverables
  • Ensuring installations comply with customer specifications and industry standards

Fieldwire Management & Quality Control

  • Create and maintain project execution plans within Fieldwire.
  • Develop task structures, installation workflows, punch lists, quality checklists, and closeout requirements within Fieldwire.
  • Ensure technicians have access to current drawings, installation documentation, task assignments, and project requirements.
  • Monitor project execution remotely through Fieldwire updates, site photos, testing results, field reports, and progress documentation.
  • Conduct ongoing quality assurance reviews throughout project execution.
  • Review installation photos, testing results, as-built documentation, and project deliverables for compliance with project standards.
  • Identify quality concerns, workmanship issues, or installation deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions with field teams.
  • Drive accountability for field reporting, documentation, and project execution standards.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout project delivery.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings, customer status meetings, and executive reviews.
  • Provide proactive communication regarding project status, risks, milestones, and escalations.
  • Manage customer expectations and ensure a high-quality customer experience.
  • Coordinate effectively with customers, subcontractors, partners, and internal teams.

Financial & Commercial Management

  • Track project budgets and financial performance.
  • Review labor forecasts and resource requirements.
  • Manage change orders and scope modifications.
  • Identify commercial risks and project impacts early.
  • Support project profitability objectives through effective planning and execution.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor Project Coordinators and junior Project Managers
  • Support development of project management standards, templates, and best practices
  • Assist with onboarding and coaching delivery team members
  • Drive consistency in reporting, planning, documentation, and customer communication across projects

Process Improvement & PMO Excellence

  • Contribute to the development of project management standards, templates, and best practices.
  • Improve project delivery processes and operational workflows.
  • Support implementation of automation and AI-driven efficiencies.

Requirements

Do you have experience in monday.com?, As we continue to grow, we are seeking an exceptional Senior Technical Project Manager who combines strong project management expertise with deep low-voltage experience. This role is ideal for someone who has spent time in the field delivering projects and has successfully transitioned into project management., * Fiber testing results with a technician

  • Installation sequencing with a foreman

You possess both technical credibility and project management discipline. You can walk onto a project, understand what is happening in the field, identify risks, challenge assumptions, and lead teams toward successful project outcomes.

You are proactive, detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously., * 4+ years of Project Management experience in low-voltage infrastructure, structured cabling, access control, security systems and network infrastructure environments

  • Previous hands-on field experience in low-voltage infrastructure delivery.
  • Experience as a Lead Technician, Foreman, Superintendent, Project Engineer, Technical Project Manager, or similar field leadership role preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of:
  • Structured cabling systems
  • Fiber optic infrastructure
  • Access control systems
  • Video surveillance systems
  • Wireless deployments
  • Data center environments
  • Demonstrated experience creating detailed project implementation plans.
  • Experience leading technical kickoff meetings for field teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong understanding of floor plans, and installation documentation.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, technicians, and multi-site deployments.
  • Experience using Fieldwire or similar field execution platforms.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technicians, customers, vendors, and executives.
  • Excellent planning, documentation, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Monday.com, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar project management platforms.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience delivering commercial, enterprise, industrial, or data center infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with access control and surveillance platforms such as Verkada, LenelS2, Genetec, Avigilon, or similar solutions.
  • Experience managing large-scale wireless deployment programs.
  • Experience with Monday.com, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar project management platforms.
  • Experience using AI and automation tools to improve project delivery workflows.
  • BICSI Installer, Technician, or related industry certifications.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline preferred.
