Job description

Abacus Technology is seeking a Network Solutions Architect to provide technical infrastructure support for the Air Force Intranet Control (AFINC) III Support program at Maxwell AFB/Gunter Annex. This is a full-time position., * Analyze and simulate network traffic to aide in problem resolution or to test updated configurations in virtual or physical lab environments.

  • Optimize, oversee, and support enterprise communications networks including overlaying security technologies.
  • Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics, reports, and recommended fix actions.
  • Support network and security controls design review implementation and troubleshooting of IT security systems including hardware software and appliances.
  • Evaluate Cloud offerings and provides recommendations to leadership for improved mission effectiveness, cost effectiveness, and operational efficiencies.
  • Monitor system utilization and circuit bandwidth and report anomalies to Government team leads.
  • Develop, execute, modify or remove scripts to assist in automation of tasks, as possible.
  • Review and document all workload activities per incident or change request to eliminate re-work or for auditing/investigation purposes.

Requirements

7+ years experience in network engineering and administration. HS diploma or GED. Must be Security+ CE certified. Must be CCNA or CCNP certified. CCIE certification desired. Extensive experience designing, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, upgrading, patching, and hardening routers/switches, serial consoles, load balancers, and switches. Deep level of understanding/experience with enterprise level network architectures/configurations. Able to assess infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions. Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN) is desired. Experience with network monitoring and management using an automated solution. Extensive experience with security as it pertains to network architecture, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS). Solid customer service and communication skills are critical as well as the ability and willingness to communicate effectively and appropriately in an empathetic and understanding manner. Must be a US Citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI).
