Job description

The Access Control Analyst is responsible for defining, configuring, and administering PeopleSoft access control across multiple instances (development, test, production, etc.) which includes interacting and working closely with multiple teams to implement access control roles and permissions. The position ensures UT Tyler and UT Tyler Health Science Center are compliant with applicable policies.

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks

  • Configure and develop security objects that adhere Oracle/PeopleSoft/UT System development standards and best practices and document the security infrastructure so that it may be interpreted, maintained, and enhanced.
  • Apply knowledge of PeopleSoft security delivered functionality (User profiles, Roles, Permission Lists, Portal security, Sync, etc.) to maximize features and functionality in support of identified customer requirements. Make recommendations to improve, streamline, and automate PeopleSoft access control.
  • Respond to, and troubleshoot, reported problems pertaining to the PeopleSoft applications access control and integrity. Identify the cause, design, or develop an approach for resolution.
  • Work closely with the client to determine the appropriate structure of the PS Security module including roles, responsibilities, and organizational structures.
  • Perform impact analysis on all PeopleSoft application updates and provide proposals for applying them effectively.
  • Architect and maintain integrated PeopleSoft security across application modules (Enterprise Portal, HCM, EPM, FMS, Campus Solutions, and/or CRM).
  • Lead access control meetings with clients to determine requirements.
  • Stay informed and ensure compliance with UT System policy changes and/or updates as applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned., The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Computer Science or related field.
  • Three (3) years of related experience.
  • May accept a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Experience in IT security or IT service desk.
  • Knowledge of related concepts and practices.
  • Experience working in a university or state government setting.
  • PeopleSoft experience.
