Job description
- Small founding team: 2 co-founders + 1 engineer (we’re hiring you as the 2nd) + part-time consultants on Product, DevOps, and Compliance + access to a senior Railsware Director who has shipped many products. We work spec-driven - planning before prompting, planning before coding.
Co-founders:
- Engineering & Product Lead - Senior technologist with a proven track record of building and scaling widely adopted SaaS products, including prior involvement in the development of a globally recognized scheduling platform.
- Markets & Distribution Lead - Experienced growth and distribution specialist with a substantial digital audience (multi-million subscriber base), and founder of a product operating in the trading and analytics space, demonstrating established market reach and user acquisition capabilities.
What we’re building
- TradeTerm is the audit-first replay platform that prop firms, Tradezella users, and serious futures traders have been missing. Bookmap-class orderflow UX, with audit + replay + execution as the wedge. Distribution is locked from day 1: Umar’s 4M-sub launch channel + warm Tradezella audience - not “build for a year then maybe.”
What you’ll get
- Real ownership. Spec * plan * build * ship. No ticket queue.
- Skin in the game. Trade on the platform you build. Eat your own cooking.
- AI-first, true team. You’ll work with people who use AI as a research / planning / execution stack - not as a copilot. The kind of disciplined workflow most engineers spend years figuring out alone.
- Market comp + broad geo. Cash comp at market rate. Hiring globally.
- Fluid working style. We pair when it accelerates the work. We go async / deep when the work needs it. No ceremony - output > activity., * A senior full-stack engineer who is also an active trader.
Requirements
Do you have experience in WebSocket?, * Required: 5+ years senior engineering - comfortable across low-latency backend and modern frontend (React 18+/TypeScript)
- Active trading experience - futures or crypto, day or scalp. You’ve read the tape. You traded lots of terminals and know what’s beautiful.
- Spec-driven, AI-orchestrated development. You plan deeply, orchestrate agents.
- Real-time market data - WebSocket streaming, order books, Level 2 depth
- You produce your own product specs; UX decisions per the UX guide / UX advisor
- Fluent written English
- Nice to haves: Rust (our backend is Rust/Axum), or Go / C++
- WebAssembly / native-quality browser rendering (Emscripten, dear imgui, egui) - ability to build cryexc / Bookmap-class browser tools
- MBO data, footprint charts, DOM/ladder, orderbook + liquidation heatmaps, market profile, volume profile, CVD
Benefits & conditions
Pulled from the full job description
- Professional development assistance
- Paid time off
- Flexible schedule, * Real-time market data pipeline - Level 2 WebSocket, order book reconstruction
- Orderflow visualization - footprints, heatmaps, DOM, profile, CVD
- Trading UX - chart + DOM + tape + order panel as one coherent experience
- Getting live data flowing for prop-firm partnership conversations
The bar
- Coder who doesn’t trade: not for you. Trader who codes a little: also not for you. We’re hiring the rare person who is both - and energized by being across product, AI, and markets at the same time.
Pay: $91,969.02 - $110,758.39 per year, * Flexible schedule
- Paid time off
- Professional development assistance
