In this energetic role, you will manage and optimize our cloud environments, ensuring seamless operations across various platforms. Your expertise will empower us to leverage cutting-edge cloud technologies, enhance system scalability, and maintain robust security protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work flexibly while making a significant impact on our IT landscape through innovative cloud solutions., * Manage and monitor Google Cloud Platform (GCP) resources, including Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), compute instances, and storage solutions such as S3-compatible storage.
- Automate deployment processes using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Ruby to streamline infrastructure provisioning.
- Oversee virtualization technologies including VMware, OpenStack, and Rackspace to support scalable and resilient IT infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain identity and access management (IAM) solutions to ensure secure user authentication and authorization across cloud services.
- Support the deployment of microservices architectures utilizing Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native tools for scalable application development.
- Assist in managing distributed systems and SaaS applications by integrating RESTful APIs and web services for seamless data exchange.
- Conduct system hardening, security audits, and compliance checks to safeguard cloud infrastructure against vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with development teams on cloud architecture design, supporting DevOps practices with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
- Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA), IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), and SaaS models.
- Hands-on knowledge of virtualization platforms including VMware, OpenStack, Rackspace, Citrix, and Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with managing IT infrastructure through automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for deploying scalable applications.
- Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Ruby or JavaScript for automation tasks.
- Knowledge of database management systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server; experience with NoSQL databases is a plus.
- Understanding of network security principles including VPNs, firewalls, system hardening techniques, and IAM solutions to protect cloud assets.
- Background in computer science or related fields with experience in software development methodologies like Agile or SDLC frameworks.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems issues efficiently while maintaining high levels of system availability and performance.
