Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Epic Implementation Developer to join our dynamic healthcare technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying Epic Systems solutions that enhance clinical workflows and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in system architecture, solution design, and integration of complex healthcare IT systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative health information technology projects that improve patient care delivery. Key responsibilities include collaborating with clinical and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, developing custom modules and interfaces, ensuring system interoperability, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. You will play a vital role in supporting the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) while leveraging your expertise in various programming languages, system infrastructure, and security protocols to deliver robust solutions.

experience in C#, SQL, HL7 , Rhapsody (software), Azure cloud development and Snowflake DB. If possible, knowledge of the Epic platform.

Duties

  • Design and implement Epic modules utilizing system design principles aligned with healthcare workflows and standards.
  • Develop integrations with external systems such as Salesforce, Pegasystems, and other third-party applications using RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Configure and optimize Epic interfaces with diverse systems including SQL databases, NoSQL stores, and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system architecture, load balancing, and system hardening for security compliance.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, threat intelligence analysis, and perform system hardening to safeguard sensitive health data.
  • Support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Git, and DevOps practices for efficient development cycles.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to operating systems (Windows/Linux), virtualization (VMware/ESXi), and networking components such as VPNs, firewalls, DNS, DHCP.
  • Participate in Agile development processes by contributing to sprint planning, code reviews, debugging sessions, and documentation.
  • Assist in system administration tasks including GPO management, system monitoring via Nagios or Meraki dashboards, and performance tuning.
  • Implement system architecture improvements leveraging microservices frameworks like Kubernetes or Docker containers for scalable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with cloud security standards while managing cloud-based infrastructure on AWS or Azure environments.

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, * Proven experience in systems engineering or software development within healthcare IT or related fields.

  • Extensive knowledge of service-oriented architecture (SOA), solution architecture, and enterprise system design.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, C#, Python, Java, Ruby on Rails, or C++.
  • Hands-on experience with database management systems including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and T-SQL.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, loading across diverse data stores.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components including operating systems (Windows/Linux), virtualization platforms (VMware/ESXi), networking protocols (DNS/DHCP), and security measures (firewalls/VPN).
  • Experience working within Agile methodologies utilizing tools like Jira or WDS for project management.
  • Knowledge of API development using RESTful services or SOAP protocols; experience integrating with Web services.
  • Background in DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools; scripting skills in Bash shell scripting or Shell Scripting are advantageous.
  • Exposure to modern container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes; familiarity with GPO management is preferred.
  • Educational background in computer science or related disciplines; certifications in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) or cybersecurity are a plus.
