Job description
The Computer Science Department seeks motivated candidates with strong computer science and networking credentials for the Instructor of Computer Science (Tenure Track) position. Courses offered at WCC include Object-Oriented Programming in C++, Java and Visual C#, Computer Architecture, Data Structures, Linux, and a range of networking courses. Responsibilities include the following:
- Teach 15 hours a week.
- Hold a minimum of 5 office hours per week.
- Assist in the development of curricula.
- Serve on department and college-wide committees.

Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Master’s degree in computer science or a closely related field and a minimum of one year’s college teaching experience are required.
All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and evidence of equity-minded practice.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Three years of college-level teaching and industry experience is strongly preferred; industry experience may be substituted for the college teaching experience requirement.
Benefits & conditions
SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $75,170. Additional compensation with seniority steps maximize at a salary of $88,234. Further salary increases may be achieved through promotion to higher academic ranks. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, a choice of defined benefit and/or defined contribution pension plan, generous leave benefits, and access to tax sheltered annuities and a deferred compensation plan.
